New Players start here!

Welcome to the Shadow Accord Wiki!

The Wiki's content is Out-Of-Game information.

The Shadow Accord Wiki contains information on all the available factions at Shadow Accord and is meant to be a resource for players as they explore the game world. Your character only has access to information that their background dictates. Besides, if everyone's characters already knew everything, what fun would that be?

The Sections

To ease the trouble of locating information. The Wiki is split in to six separate groups, each with a specific factional or informational focus.

Please, be aware that the Shadow Accord wiki is a work in progress.

The formatting of the pages may be off, or the information you are looking for may not be easily accessible yet. The wiki is a continuing project.

If you need information on something and are just not finding it, don't be afraid to contact our Character Guides by either dropping in to their forum section or emailing them directly at sa_characterguides@nwlarpers.org.

Below is a summary of each of the six sections:

Out Of Game

This section provides details on Out Of Game (OOG) information. It's a resource section for players, rather than a resource section for a player's characters; which are what the other five sections are for.

Mortal

The Mortal section gives details on mortal politics, history, and culture. It's primarily a resource for what life was like in the 13th century, which is something all players and characters should at least have a basic understanding of.

Vampire

The Vampire section provides details on Vampires including their histories, culture, and what players should generally know when playing one of the Cainites.

Shifter

The Shifter section provides details on the various shapeshifting creatures in the game and what one would need to know when playing a Shifter character.

Wraith

The Wraith section provides details on Wraiths, their societies, internal struggle, and the world beyond the grave.

Other

The Other section provides information on other supernatural characters, such as Fae and Mages. While some groups within a faction may have limited knowledge of these other supernatural types, please confer with a Character Guide to see exactly what those limits are.

Player Contributions

The Wiki is a project that brings together history, mythology, and a variant of the World of Darkness canon. While the job of a Character Guide is to gather and research the information for the playership, we appreciate the contributions of many of the knowledgeable players who assist us in this endeavor.

This resource would not be possible if not for the hard work and diligence given by our players.

Notable Contributors:

If you have information on a subject listed (or not!) on the Wiki, feel free to create a thread within the Wiki Discussion Forum. The Character Guides check this on a regular basis for updates and new threads.

If you have a question directly for a Character Guide, you can either create a thread in their forum section or email what you have to them directly at sa_characterguides@nwlarpers.org.

Update: 02 / 12 / 2010

We've had our first game and staff reviews! One of the things mentioned was a lack of updates on the Wiki. I blame myself! But I, of course, have the power to change this!

The Character Guides are submitting and gathering further information. I've begun formatting the pages in to a more wiki-like view. Note the handy-dandy content boxes on some of the pages. We should have those soon in each section, and later many of the pages.

I was working to give each of the six groups their own skin style, but I hit a brick wall. Thwarted again! But I shall figure it out in the end. It will be glorious, you'll see. That's all for now.

Update: 12 / 01 / 2009

And so we soldier on! I've made some adjustments to the CSS to address some minor issues as well as adjusting the color values the skin should display. I updated the happy little copyright on the footer to reflect NWLarpers.Org and such based on the advice given by the author of the skin itself.

I'm fairly new to using CSS, so this is all very much a big adventure for me. My next step will be to figure out how to apply a CSS to groups only, and by doing so I can build my OWN skin from scratch instead of borrowing and modding another.

Once the Character Guide team has assembled a sufficient amount of data, we will begin the drop in said data and create new pages accordingly. Following that, it turns to the fun process of inserting cool images and formating the text accordingly.

MMmm.. Aesthetics are so tasty! NOM NOM NOM!

Update: 11 / 22 / 2009

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

       -Genesis 1:1

..And to begin this progress, so do we. You'll see on the left-hand side of the screen that there are now several links. These links (Out Of Game, Mortal, Shifter, etc..) link to the main home pages for each "Group". As we begin to place information, these Groups will hold pages pertaining to the initial group name. Logical and all that..

When making a page, it's usually best to make it a one word title for ease of use. So if we need to create a page for say, the Crusades according to Wraiths, We can go to the Wraith section and create a new page from there called "Crusades". By doing so, you'll be making a page that will have a path which reflects "Wraith.Crusades"

You might be asking yourself,

"Why don't we just make a page in the Mortal section for the Crusades and include ALL of the data pertaining it?"

The answer to this is simple: Clarity.

Each faction has a unique perspective on how and why things happen. So instead of confusing people just looking for the Mortal perspective, we create pages and write them from the perspective of that faction. If we didn't, it would be a large jumble of information that wouldn't be any use to anyone.

On another subject, I included the Wiki Tools for admins who are entering information to the pages themselves. Help documents and such. Please note too that the Sandbox Reference has a nicely laid out table explaining markups. Please let me know if you need any clarification or would like to know how to do something. You can contact me on the NWLarpers.org forum here.
