Boffers and packets and mentals oh my!

There are several ways that the game will effect your character. First and foremost is roleplay. Since the game is largely What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG, or Wissy-Wig) most things your character will encounter in game will be self explanatory. People look like what they look like, and they do what they do. However, we checked with the Ranger and we found out we can't actually stab each other, throw fire, or change into wild animals. That's where the rulebook comes in. Here is an explanation of the effects found in the rulebook and how to roleplay them.

The game has three basic kinds of effects on your character: Damage, Mental, and Status. You will know what kind of effect it is by how it is delivered. Damage - Touch, packet or weapon, always has a numeric call (except base 1 weapons) Status - Always packet delivered. They generally last 60 seconds. Mental - Touch while in combat, or eye contact/touch otherwise. If you know the mental effect is for you, it's for you. They generally last 10 minutes. The rulebook will have a specific breakdown of these powers. The signature call for these powers should give you a good idea of what's going on, but if you get confused, pause and ask.
