Amaranth
A term for devouring the soul of another vampire through drinking their blood. Also called Diablerie.

Ancilla
Vampiric adolescence, older than a neonate or childe, not yet an elder.

Animalism
A Discipline; power over animals.

Antediluvian
A clan founder, member of the third generation of vampires.

Auspex
A Discipline; extrasensory powers.

Baron
Controls a domain at the behest of a Prince, imbued with the powers/rights of a Prince in the Barony he contols. A Baron is the Head of his court; other members are his staff and appointed by him.

Barony
Region or domain controlled by a Baron.

Becoming, The
The moment a person becomes a vampire. Also known as the embrace.

Beast, The
The force that drives a vampire to behave monstrously. See: The Hunger.

Blood Oath
A potent bond caused by the consumption of a quantity of vampire blood.

Bloodline
A sub group of a Clan that has a unique set of traits separate from the clan as a whole. Kiasyd and Giovanni are Bloodlines.

Cainite
A common, period term for a vampire.

Caitiff
A clan-less vampire; a derogatory term use to describe vampires with no heritage.

Chamberlain
Lead Bureaucract under the baron. The position is an official position of the Court.

Celerity
A Discipline; supernatural dexterity.

Childe
(pl. Childer) A term for a young, inexperience, or immature vampire. a Childe's creator is his Sire.

Chimestry
A Discipline; special, Ravnos specific power over illusions and hallucinations.

Clan
A large grouping of vampires that denotes common, familial traits. Some clans are High Clans, considered noble and more respected. Low clans are commoner vampires, garnering less respect.

Court
A feudal organization of vampires that rule over a domain.

Dementation
A Discipline; special, Malkavian specific power over madness.

Diablerie
The act of consuming another vampire, a form of punishment and a method of gaining his powers.

Disciplines, The
The blood-powers vampires learn and use, organized in trees of three.

Domain
A fiefdom or region controlled by a vampire. Does not imply size; can be as small as a barony or as large as a Principality (there is currently no Empire, but that would be awesome!).

Dominate
A Discipline; power over human will.

Elysium
A gathering of vampires, generally overseen by an Elder, to discuss politics and culture.

Embrace
(n.) The moment a person becomes a vampire. (v.) To turn someone into a vampire.

Fledgling
A new, inexperienced vampire.

Fortitude
A Discipline; supernatural toughness.

Generation
The number of steps between a vampire and the Caine. Lower generation implies a great deal of power and potential, High generation implies weak potential.

Ghoul
A servant to the vampires, created through feeding a living mortal with vampire blood.

Haven
A safe place, often a home or hideaway where a vampire can sleep safe.

Hunger, The
The unending urge for vampires to feed. Much stronger in vampires then in mortals.

Keeper
Mystical adviser to the Baron. The position is an official position of the Court.

Kindred
An anachronistic, modern term for Vampire. It was invented after the Camarilla, so it doesn't mean anything yet in the Dark Ages.

Kine
A Vampire euphemism for the whole of humanity.

Kiss, The
Euphemism for a vampire drawing blood.

Lineage
A family line of a vampire, traced by embrace.

Lupine
Werewolves; a dangerous threat to vampires.

Man, The
A vampire's humanity.

Mortis
The Cappadocian discipline that effects the bodies of the dead.

Mytherceria
A Discipline; special, Kiasyd power of the Fae.

Necromancy
The Guiovanni bloodline discipline that effects the souls of the dead.

Neonate
A young, inexperienced vampire.

Obteneration
A Discipline; power over shadows.

Obfuscate
A Discipline; power to remain obscure or hidden.

Prince
Ruling vampire of a large fief, highest ranking vampire in a domain.

Path
A sub unit of a Road; a variation on a common vampire philosophy (see: Road).

Presence
A Discipline; supernatural charisma.

Potence
A Discipline; supernatural strength.

Progeny
All the vampires created by a single vampire.

Protean
A Discipline; special, Gangrel specific power over shape shifting.

Regnant
One who holds another under a blood oath, the being blood oathed is his thrall.

Quietus
A Discipline; special, Assamite specific power of assassination.

Road
A philosophy held by a vampire that helps him deal with his Beast aspect and long life.

Seneschal
Second in command of a domain. Seneschal is an official position on the court.

Serpentis
A Discipline; special, Followers of Set specific reptilian powers.

Sheriff
The enforcer of the domains laws. Sheriff is an official position on the court.

Scourge
The personal executioner of the Baron. Scourge is an official position of the Court.

Sire
Unisex term for a Parent/creator of a vampire A Sire's creation is his Childe.

Thaumaturgy
A Discipline; special, Tremere specific power over varied sorcery.

Thrall
One who is under a blood oath. The being that they are blood oathed to is his Regnant.

Traditions
Laws of the Vampires; expected to be followed by all vampires.

Valeran
A Discipline; special, Salubri specific dual power over healing and war.

Vessel
A source of blood, typically a human.

Vicissitude
A Discipline; special, Tzimisce specific power over flesh.
